Atlanta Braves star pitcher Chris Sale has enjoyed another memorable season. While he likely won't win the National League Cy Young Award given the presence of Jacob Misiorowski, Sale has still been tremendous for the Braves. Sale, however, reached the 200-strikeout mark for the season after striking out 10 Cincinnati Reds in a 3-2 win on Wednesday. According to Sarah Langs, Sale became the second pitcher to record 200 or more strikeouts in a season with three different teams, joining Nolan Ryan in MLB history.

Sale first accomplished the feat in 2013 with the Chicago White Sox. He'd later reach the mark with the Boston Red Sox. And now, he's done it with the Braves. Overall, Sale has recorded 200 or more strikeouts in a season nine times in his big league career.

Ryan first accomplished the feat with the California Angels (now Los Angeles Angels) during the 1972 season. He went on to reach 200 strikeouts or more in a season with the Houston Astros and Texas Rangers. Ryan accomplished the feat a total of 15 times in his career. There's a reason Ryan is the MLB all-time strikeout leader.

Anytime you're mentioned in the same conversation with Nolan Ryan when it comes to the subject of strikeouts, it means you are doing something right as a pitcher. And Sale is unquestionably doing something right with the Braves. The 37-year-old has turned in a strong 2.16 ERA and 0.948 WHIP to go along with the aforementioned 200 strikeouts in 162.2 innings of work on the mound.

The Braves are surely excited to have Chris Sale leading them into the MLB postseason.
