Last week, Philadelphia 76ers star LeBron James upset Donald Trump over his antics during the National Anthem, seemingly practicing his golf swing, and NBA legend Charles Barkley somewhat agrees with the president.

Speaking on SiriusXM's NBA Radio, Barkley said that James' antics were “very disrespectful,” but he doesn't pay attention to what the president says. His opinion is completely independent of the president's, even if they agree.

“I don't pay what President Trump [says] any attention, first and foremost, at all, but I thought that was very disrespectful, practicing your golf swing in the middle of the Anthem,” he said. “I always stand for the Anthem; I just think it's important. We live in the greatest country ever.

“You can always protest, but I think you have to be very careful with the Anthem. I'm always gonna stand for the Anthem,” he added.

“[LeBron] was very disrespectful, but I don’t ever pay any attention to what President Trump says.”

If you're gonna protest, you have to be respectful, according to Barkley. He didn't find LeBron's antics to be respectful. He concluded by reiterating, “I thought what LeBron did was very disrespectful, but I don't ever pay anything President Trump says any attention.”

James went viral for seemingly practicing his golf swing during the National Anthem before the 76ers' season opener against the New York Knicks. This prompted Trump to go on a rant, demanding an apology.

LeBron laughed off the post, issuing a blunt response to it. He said, “Must have been a slow news day at the office,” to reporters after being asked about it.

The 76ers are off to a hot start to the season. They beat the defending champion Knicks in their building on Opening Night. The 76ers are 3-1 four games into the season.

James joined the Sixers in the offseason for his 24th year in the NBA. So far, he is averaging 16.3 points, seven rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game.
