According to the NBA's official injury report, Tatum is questionable due to rest, while Pritchard carries the same designation with a right shoulder contusion. Both players recently suited up for Boston's back-to-back games against the Orlando Magic and Houston Rockets.
On Wednesday afternoon, Chris B. Hayes confirmed that Tatum would, in fact, sit out this game.
Tatum has yet to miss a game this season. The Celtics star has made an immediate impact following his recovery from an Achilles injury. He currently averages 27.0 points, 7.9 assists, and 6.0 rebounds per game. However, Boston could choose to give him additional rest during its busy early-season schedule.
Pritchard has also appeared in every game this season, averaging 13.4 points and 3.4 assists on 40.3% shooting. His production has given Boston a dependable offensive option whenever the second unit takes the floor.
If Tatum sits, Baylor Scheierman, Jordan Walsh and Sam Hauser could see increased opportunities. Meanwhile, Pritchard's absence could create more minutes for Mike Conley or Ron Harper Jr.
Boston enters Wednesday's contest at 5-2 after winning four of its first seven games. The Bucks, meanwhile, have struggled to find consistency with a 1-6 record. Milwaukee will look to turn things around, while the Celtics hope to maintain their strong start.
Both teams will have plenty to monitor as they prepare for Wednesday's matchup.
