After playing just four games with the Arizona Cardinals this season, Marvin Harrison Jr. was traded to the Houston Texans. The deal marks the end of Harrison's time in Arizona, but his former teammate Trey McBride views the move as simply part of the business side of the NFL.

During Wednesday's press conference, McBride shared his thoughts on the Harrison Jr. trade.

“I thought the coaches and the staff did a good job of letting us know what was happening before the media released it,” McBride said. “So I thought that was pretty cool to address the team and to let us know before you find out on ESPN. It's part of the business. I mean, unfortunately, that's the crappy part of this business, is to lose really good players and things like that.”

“Marvin was a really good player. He was a huge part of this team. And when he left, I mean, yeah, it's gut-wrenching, whatever it is, like it stinks, but you have to find a way to move on and be able to grow and move on as a football team.”

Houston sent Arizona two selections in the 2027 NFL Draft, including a second-round pick and a sixth-round pick, in exchange for Harrison and a 2027 sixth-round selection.

Arizona selected the former Ohio State star with the hope that he would develop into one of the team's leading weapons in the passing game. However, Harrison's production declined after his rookie season, and his time with the Cardinals ultimately ended earlier than expected.

Harrison recorded 62 receptions for 885 yards and eight touchdowns during his rookie season. His production subsequently dropped to 608 receiving yards in 12 games during his second season. Through four games in 2026, he had recorded just five receptions for 85 yards and one touchdown.

Now in Houston, Harrison Jr. has an opportunity to make a fresh start and revive his NFL career. The move also reunites him with Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud, his former teammate at Ohio State. The two played together for the Buckeyes and earned All-American honors in 2022.
