Alabama football star wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams was initially considered doubtful for the upcoming game against Tennessee. However, the Crimson Tide have now received the worst possible news, as Coleman-Williams has officially been ruled out of the game.
Pete Nakos of On3 confirmed that the wide receiver will not be available for Alabama's upcoming game.
“Alabama WR Ryan Coleman-Williams is officially out this week at Tennessee,” Nakos wrote.
However, Coleman-Williams' absence could extend beyond the Tennessee game, as Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer suggested that the receiver might need more time to recover from his injuries.
“Got to work through an injury with the knee that's been kind of going on. We'll deal with that. Got the head issue as well. Gonna address that, even the lower extremity there, this week. Pretty good chance we wouldn't have him this weekend. Probably be week-to-week after that,” DeBoer said.
Coleman-Williams' latest injury concerns emerged during Alabama's 20-17 loss against Georgia. The receiver was already dealing with a knee problem and wearing a brace when he appeared to land awkwardly while attempting to make a catch in the end zone during the first half.

The timing is particularly unfortunate for Alabama because Coleman-Williams has been one of its most productive offensive players this season. Through six games, he has recorded 23 receptions for 415 yards and four touchdowns, leading the Crimson Tide in both receiving yards and touchdown catches.
With Coleman-Williams unavailable, Alabama will need other receivers to take on larger roles against Tennessee. Lotzeir Brooks and Rico Scott are among the options who could receive increased opportunities.
