History is not on the side of the Los Angeles Dodgers, as no team has clawed back from a 3-0 deficit in the NLCS. The Dodgers found themselves in the unenviable situation after losing to the Milwaukee Brewers, 6-2, in Game 3 at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday.
Los Angeles is trying to avoid a complete reversal of last year's NLCS, wherein it swept Milwaukee to advance to the World Series for the 23rd time in franchise history.
A 24th time, however, seems bleak, and Max Muncy acknowledged the harsh reality.
“It's a pretty simple answer. We're playing like s***, and they're (Brewers) playing great,” said Muncy, as quoted by The Athletic's Fabian Ardaya.
Muncy had zero hits in two at-bats with one strikeout and zero walks in Game 3.
Fans pinned the blame on manager Dave Roberts, claiming that he made plenty of missteps. Muncy's comment, however, could be considered a wake-up call for everyone, especially since they are on the brink of elimination.
The 36-year-old Muncy, a three-time champion, sounded less optimistic after offering a similar take after falling in Game 2.

The Dodgers are staring at a seemingly insurmountable hurdle, but they have no choice but to put their heads down, get to work, and chip away at the Brewers' lead one game at a time.
Perhaps history will slowly slide to their side.
