The Arizona Cardinals recently picked up their most impressive win of the season with a narrow road victory over the Dallas Cowboys. The story of this game was Gardner Minshew, who took over at quarterback in the second half and engineered a wild comeback, torching the Cowboys' defense and ultimately winning the game in overtime.

Unfortunately, the Cardinals didn't make it through this game unscathed from an injury perspective, as rookie running back Jeremiyah Love went down with an ankle injury that forced him to exit the contest.

On Tuesday, the team got a rough update on Love's status moving forward.

“Sources: #AZCardinals RB Jeremiyah Love is headed to Injured Reserve because of a high-ankle sprain that knocks him out 4-5 weeks. Arizona’s first-round pick has previously been dealing with a different ankle sprain,” reported NFL insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network on X, formerly Twitter.

Indeed, ankle injuries have plagued Love throughout his rookie season in Arizona, although he has been producing at an elite level when he's been able to stay on the field. The Cardinals drafted Love in the first round this past offseason out of Notre Dame, hoping to give their offense a boost, and the hope is that he will be able to stay on the field for the rest of the season once he returns from this injury.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals aren't exactly angling toward the playoffs after the Cowboys win, but the victory did give them some strong momentum to build on, as the team recently named Minshew the starter moving forward after his epic performance.

The Cardinals will next hit the field next Sunday afternoon for a tough road game vs the Seattle Seahawks.
