After a hamstring injury that sidelined him temporarily, Caleb Williams is supercharging the Chicago Bears. His on-field exploits have cultivated a more defiant persona amid unrelenting criticism of his abilities.

On Wednesday, after the Bears defeated the Seattle Seahawks on Monday, Williams took to social media to give a not-so-subtle message to his haters, evoking Kevin Durant. Williams featured an image of Durant on his Instagram page with Durant wearing a shirt that read:

“Shoot til my arms fall off”.

Williams then followed up with the post “throw til my arms fall off”.

Additionally, he included a picture of a fan with a sign of him in the background, faking injuries. He also included images of fans picking the Seahawks to win and a Packers sign in the game.

During the NBA preseason, Durant fired back at critics of the Houston Rockets for being supposed underdogs. If anything, Williams has embraced that moniker, showing confidence in his and his team's abilities.

So far, the Bears are 6-2 and right behind the Minnesota Vikings (6-1) in the NFC North. Meanwhile, Williams has thrown for 1,267 passing yards, six touchdowns, and a 70.9% completion rate.

While Williams has shown considerable skill given everything he has faced, he still has his critics. Critics say Williams is too emotional, paints his fingernails, and holds onto the ball too long during plays.

Those criticisms have plagued him since he came into the league.

However, after a torrid rookie campaign in 2024, Williams rebounded by helping lead the Bears to the NFC North title in 2025. Now the Bears are poised to make a postseason run again, and Williams is putting up some decent numbers so far.

Haters gonna hate, but Williams is laughing all the way to the bank.
