After suffering a season-ending injury last year before the Indiana Fever’s playoff run, Caitlin Clark is back in the postseason for the first time since her rookie year as the Fever will take on the Las Vegas Aces in the opening round. And for Clark, she feels like this is the best she’s ever played in her career, as per Kareem Copeland of ESPN.

“I think for myself over the course of the year, I think I’m playing my best basketball right now. I feel like every month I’ve been able to progress and progress and progress,” Clark said. “The way I’ve been able to come back and perform has been great. I’ve been proud of myself in that regard, but yeah I feel like I’m playing my best basketball.”

There’s not much argument there in terms of Caitlin Clark’s assertion that she’s playing her best basketball coming into the Fever’s playoff series against the Aces. Clark has been on the short list of potential MVP candidates this season.

Coming into the playoffs, Clark has appeared in 40 games at a little over 31 minutes per game. She’s averaging a career-high 22.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 1.1 steals with splits of 44.5 percent shooting from the field, 36.1 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 85.2 percent shooting from the free-throw line.

This is rematch of last season’s WNBA Semifinals when the Fever pushed the Aces to a deciding fifth game amid the absence of Clark. This series is probably one of the most anticipated of the opening round as the Aces boast a MVP candidate of their own in A’ja Wilson.
