The Chicago Bulls have a season like no other ahead of them. Caleb Wilson is waiting in the wings to blossom. Plus, a new executive team, new coach, and a new sense of urgency.

And yet, the Bulls find themselves in familiar territory, per ESPN. Of the 30 teams, Chicago ranks 27th in ESPN's 3-year outlook system. A system that predicts where each team will be in 3 years.

“The Bulls have been the most consistent team in the Future Power Rankings the past four seasons, including this one,” Dean Oliver said. “Unfortunately, that consistency has been in the bottom range of the rankings.”

This helps explain what Chicago did during the offseason. They hired Bryson Graham as the new VP of Basketball Operations. Then, they brought on Tiago Splitter as the new head coach.

And with the addition of Wilson to round out a young core, there is some potential.

“The Bulls' long-awaited rebuild is finally underway, so even though they're not expected to win many games over the next few seasons, at least those losses will come as part of a plan,” Zach Kram said. “Chicago hopes that its clean cap and appealing market can aid a turnaround once the time is right to try contending again.”

As for Wilson, he is poised to do big things for the city. His explosive versatility and maturity beyond his years have already endeared him to a city desperate for a face and a winner.

Wilson could also bring cultural cachet back to Chicago.

“Wilson will rank in the NBA's top 10 jersey sales by 2030,” Ben Golliver said. “Despite a classic red uniform and lasting global popularity that dates to Michael Jordan's heyday, the Bulls haven't had a merchandise powerhouse since Derrick Rose. Wilson's high-flying game and boundless confidence will change that.”

At this point, anything's possible.
