With the Denver Broncos taking on the Los Angeles Chargers in a Week 5 matchup, the team is looking for a more encouraging game from its offense, as it's been an underwhelming start to the season. After another offensive dud for the Broncos against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 4's 24-14 loss, head coach Sean Payton is making a change to the offensive play-calling involving offensive coordinator Davis Webb.

While there had been speculation of a total change at offensive coordinator, Payton isn't going that far, as NFL insider Adam Schefter reports that Denver is “taking a more collaborative play-calling approach.” Meaning, Payton will have an “increased role,” while Webb will still have a “significant game-planning and game-day role.”

“The Broncos are taking a more collaborative play-calling approach this week, with HC Sean Payton having an increased role in the process and OC Davis Webb continuing with a significant game-planning and game-day role, per sources. Denver is looking to spark its offense ahead of Sunday’s game at Los Angeles vs. the Chargers,” Schefter wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
