The Baltimore Ravens are currently gearing up for their upcoming road game against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday evening. The Ravens are coming into this game with star quarterback Lamar Jackson's status in doubt after he missed the second half of last week's win over the Tennessee Titans due to an ankle injury.

However, recently, Jackson got a somewhat optimistic update from the Ravens ahead of Sunday's game.

“Jesse Minter left open the possibility of Lamar Jackson playing Sunday against the #Falcons if he doesn’t practice. Still not on the field for the #Ravens,” reported NFL insider Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network on X, formerly Twitter.

While the report may seem counterintuitive, it's certainly a hopeful update for Ravens fans hoping to see Jackson on the field against a Falcons team that suddenly seems like a formidable opponent.

After stumbling out of the gates with two ugly losses, the Falcons have now picked up two straight blowout wins to even up their record at 2-2. Meanwhile, the Ravens currently sit at 3-1 on the season, although some of the same questions from last year, including regarding their defense and now Jackson's health, remain even after Jesse Minter has replaced John Harbaugh as the team's head coach.

If Jackson is unable to go against Atlanta, Tyler Huntley would get the start, which wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, as he is considered by many to be among the top backup quarterbacks in the league.

In any case, the Falcons and Ravens are slated to kick things off on Sunday at 8:20 pm ET from Atlanta.
