One of the matchups of the week is the Buffalo Bills (6-1) going to Minnesota to take on the Vikings (6-1). It will be a battle between the Vikings top-tier defense and the Bills tremendous offense. Buffalo is a -3.5 point favorite and the game total has dropped from 48.5 to 46.5.

Minnesota is no longer undefeated after a 19-15 loss in Detroit. The bye week might have been the worst thing for the Vikings, as it cooled their hot streak. Minnesota barely survived Indianapolis, 16-10, and struggled all day against Detroit offensively. Kyler Murray did throw a season-high two touchdowns, but Minnesota was 3-of-11 on third and fourth downs, posted 266 total yards, and lost the time of possession battle (35:43-24:17). The Vikings haven’t cracked 300 yards of offense in either of their last two games, and their opponents went 13-of-28 on third downs. Minnesota won’t have it easy on money downs with Josh Allen in town.

Buffalo has won three straight games over the Rams (37-34 OT), Raiders (33-30), and Ravens (36-10). Buffalo has scored 24 or more points in every game this season and 36, 37, and 33 points in their three road games. Josh Allen scored three total touchdowns and recorded his fifth game of the year with both a passing and rushing score. James Cook had 101 total yards and a touchdown, while Dalton Kincaid and DJ Moore both surpassed 80 receiving yards and caught a touchdown. The Bills defense had it easy versus a third- or fourth-string quarterback last week, holding the Ravens to 68 passing yards. Baltimore ran 49 plays and had 144 total yards for 2.9 yards per play. Buffalo’s defense couldn’t have played any better.

Let’s dive into the numbers and see if we can’t find an additional sweat or two.

Expert picks & predictions for Bills vs Vikings

Vaughn Dalzell (@VmoneySports) likes Buffalo to cover:

“I was on the Colts +6.5 and the Lions -3 over the past two weeks, and I will be fading them again in hopes of going 3-0 in that stretch. Minnesota is so overrated, and Buffalo is a Super Bowl contender. Buffalo’s defense will be able to step up enough to limit Kyler Murray and his tweaked hamstring. It’s Bills or pass.”

Quarterback matchup for Bills vs Vikings

· Minnesota: Kyler Murray – Kyler Murray is questionable with a hamstring injury, but expected to play. Murray is coming off a season-high two passing touchdowns in the loss to the Lions. He posted 210 passing yards on 17-of-29 (58.6%) and 35 rushing yards on four carries. Murray was sacked three times, the fourth time he’s taken at least three sacks. Murray also tossed an interception, breaking a streak of three games without a pick. Murray has the second-highest red zone completion percentage (75%), but ranks 28th in red zone attempts (16). When Murray is blitzed or running play-action, he ranks near the bottom of the NFL in completion percentage at 49% and 54.8%.

· Buffalo: Josh Allen – Josh Allen recorded his fifth game with a passing and rushing touchdown this season versus Baltimore. Allen threw for 289 yards and ran for another 30 in the 36-10 win. This week will be much different for Allen and the Buffalo offense. Minnesota runs the fewest man coverage in the NFL at 5.3% and the second-most zone (86.5%). Allen has thrown the ball more versus zone than man this season and completes 69.7% of his passes versus zone (16th) and the seventh-best true completion percentage overall (73.9%). Allen will be tested for sure, but he thrives in chaos, which he will be under. Minnesota likes to blitz, but Allen has a 78.8% catchable-ball rate versus the blitz (4th) and a 71.7% completion percentage (5th).
