The Buffalo Bills reportedly signed Anthony Kendall to the active roster right before the 37-34 Week 5 win over the Los Angeles Rams on “Monday Night Football.” Kendall was given a ton of playing time, but a day after helping the team secure the victory, it appears he is no longer on the roster.

Reports indicate that the 26-year-old was waived by the Bills on Tuesday, according to Ian Rapoport. It's said Buffalo intends to sign Kendall back to the club's practice squad, assuming he clears waivers. This decision comes after Kendall logged 30 snaps in the nickel position on Monday night.

“The Bills are waiving defensive back Anthony Kendall, who was signed to the 53-man roster before the game last night,” Rapoport reported. “He started at nickel and played 30 solid snaps before being waived today. The plan is to sign back to the practice squad if he clears waivers.”

After the Bills waived Kendall, the other 31 teams in the league will have 24 hours to claim him. Buffalo would apparently prefer he re-joins the team on the practice squad. However, after holding his own on “Monday Night Football,” another organization may feel inclined to sign him off waivers.

Monday's contest was the first game Kendall had participated in since the 2023-24 campaign when he logged 16 appearances as a backup for the Tennessee Titans. In his 30 snaps in the Bills' win over the Rams, the former undrafted free agent recorded three combined tackles (one solo).

Anthony Kendall's status remains up in the air for now. In the meantime, the Bills will move on to Week 6 for a road game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
