The Giants elevated linebacker Malik Harrison from the practice squad three times in the first five weeks of the season and they made a more permanent move with him on Tuesday.
They announced that they have signed Harrison to the 53-man roster. Linebacker Dawuane Smoot took Harrison’s spot on the practice squad.
Harrison had two tackles in the season opener against the Colts and he recovered a fumble in the team’s Week 3 win over the Titans. The 2020 third-round pick has also played in 76 games for the Ravens and 11 games for the Steelers.
Smoot worked out for the Giants on Monday. He has 27 sacks in 127 career games.
