Kansas Basketball is preparing for its 2026-27 campaign with some exhibition matches at Allen Fieldhouse. The Jayhawks have a different look to the roster this year, as former Kansas standout Flory Bidunga transferred to Louisville.

On Wednesday night, Bidunga was back in Allen Fieldhouse, this time as a member of the visiting team as Louisville and Kansas faced off in an exhibition match. As Bidunga took the floor, profanity-laced chants from the student section came down on their former star. The “F**k you, Flory” chants caught the attention of Kansas coach Bill Self, who excoriated the fans for the profane chant, per Myron Medcalf of ESPN.

“I actually expected Flory to get booed,” Self said. “Anything beyond that is uncalled for, but I expected him to get booed. And you know what? When you transfer or I take another job or something and you go back to that place, that's what happens. That's the way it should be. That's what creates interest. Flory knows that. But anything beyond that, I don't agree with at all, especially when he gave us two really good years and he was a terrific kid. I think it's fine that people react a certain way. If he wasn't any good, nobody would care. People care. So, that's part of it. But anything more than that, no, I wouldn't appreciate it.”

Bidunga played 69 games with 40 starts over the last two years for Kansas. He averaged 9.6 points per game with 7.2 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game in his time at Kansas. For his part, Bidunga did not seem to be fazed by the chants.

“They're rooting for Kansas. I understand. Fans are going to be fans,” said Bidunga. “They want Kansas to be great, so that means they'll say whatever they have to. Well, y'all heard what they said, but I didn't pay attention. We had a mission. We came here. Y'all saw my teammates take care of the ball, take care of the game, so I'm really excited and proud of them.”

Kansas opens the regular season on November 2 against Fordham.
