The Minnesota Timberwolves got off to a winning start this season, defeating the Miami Heat on LaMelo Ball's first game with his new team. Ball had a strong debut, scoring 21 points with five 3-pointers to go along with six assists.

However, one of his baskets caught headlines as a stepback 3-pointer he made looked suspiciously like a travel that wasn't called. As he was moving to his right, LaMelo took about four steps after gathering the ball, which should have been whistled as a walk.

LaMelo's own brother Lonzo called him out on social media for the travel. Upon hearing this news from ESPN's SportsCenter anchors, LaMelo had some words for his older bro.

“He hatin'. He hatin'. See, I gotta give him a call right now, 'cause with the family, he know what you supposed to do. Even if I'm wrong, I'm right. That's how it go, I gotta teach that boy,” LaMelo said.

LaMelo certainly takes after his father, LaVar Ball, with his humorous quips about his brother, who is without a team to start the season. LaMelo talks and plays with the bravado and confidence of LaVar, that even when faced with an obvious error like his travel, he can shrug it off and say he's still right.

Missed travel aside, it was a tremendous start to the LaMelo Ball-Anthony Edwards tandem for the Timberwolves as they thrashed the Giannis Antetokounmpo-led Miami Heat, 131-106. Among all the stars on display, Edwards shined brightest with a game-high 45 points with 10 rebounds.

The Wolves will remain in Florida for their next game on Friday as they take on the Orlando Magic.
