A few weeks ago, the 28-year-old Ryan Garcia called for boxing legend Floyd Mayweather to return to boxing for a showdown between the two. Mayweather recently made headlines for his supposed financial and personal troubles. He retired from professional boxing in 2017 following a win over Conor McGregor but has kept participating in exhibition matches.

A few weeks ago, Garcia teased fighting Mayweather in a money match. Now, according to Garcia's statements on social media, Mayweather has agreed to a fight in a non-exhibition match, which might mean that Mayweather's 50-0 streak would be on the line.

“Trust me at first I thought this was bull***But it’s real Floyd and I agree to a fight. 147 for the WBC welterweight championship of the world. 50-0 vs The current champ,” Garcia wrote on social media.

Garcia, 26-2 in professional boxing, also shared a FaceTime screenshot showing Mayweather and him talking about the potential fight. Rumors have long emerged about a fight between the two, but fans remain doubtful about its fruition.

Despite his ongoing financial struggles, Mayweather made major earnings from fights in Saitama, London, Dubai, and Mexico City. All of these fights came against less prominent challengers like Logan Paul, Aaron Chalmers, and KSI’s brother Deji. Mayweather was also scheduled to come back to the professional ranks this year for a rematch with Manny Pacquiao, but that plan never took off.

Now, also in talks about a 2017 rematch with Conor McGregor, Mayweather was recently seen accompanying USA President Donald Trump during his Arizona Rally. As of now, Mayweather has not yet officially commented on Garcia's statements.
