New Washington Wizards forward Anthony Davis made a phenomenal debut. Davis finished with 34 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, and 1 made 3-pointer in 34 minutes. His skill impressed the Wizards faithful; as early as the first quarter, he heard MVP chants.

Now that Washington Wizards fans see the potential of the roster, even without No. 1 pick AJ Dybantsa, Davis wants an even bigger crowd.

“I’d like it to be a little more packed in there, but the crowd was great, they were into it, got us over the hump…”

To emphasize his point, he went through it in a little fun shade.

“Even when I was here last year, very first home game, it was like ‘Dress Like a Seat Night’ in here.”

Last season, Wizards fans had little to cheer about. Although the team was loaded with talent, it seemed to lack the pieces to truly contend with the best rosters in the Eastern Conference. At the trade deadline, the team positioned itself with Trae Young from the Atlanta Hawks and Anthony Davis from the Dallas Mavericks. But even with two all-star pickups, Young played only five games for the Wizards after the trade. Meanwhile, Davis never suited up.

But the Wizards fan base's patience paid off in an impressive offseason: they signed Trae Young to a 4-year, $212 million contract extension and landed the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft, which they used to select BYU star AJ Dybantsa. Now, the Wizards fan base has plenty to cheer about, and they'll most certainly heed Davis's call.
