Just minutes into his Philadelphia 76ers debut against the New York Knicks, things turned nasty and hot for LeBron James. James heard boos and cunning comments before exchanging heated words with a courtside fan. Despite the fan's attempt to get into James' head, they were unable to do so as the 76ers defeated the Knicks, 100-106.

However, the Philadelphia 76ers star found himself in a verbal confrontation during the second quarter of this season's opener at Madison Square Garden, where the Knicks were celebrating their first NBA championship in almost five decades.

Midway through the game, the newest 76ers superstar responded to a fan who said New Yorkers wouldn't be rooting for him just because LeBron was living in NYC and flying to Philly for his team's home games. In the same video, Spike Lee is seen standing up and interfering in the fight between James and the fan. However, as Lee successfully intervened in the fight, both the men went back to their work.

Another clip going viral on social media shows James shouting at a fan. “Ain't nothing soft in the Midwest. I don't know what the f*** you talking about. I'm not from the West Coast, I’m from Ohio, baby,” James yelled.

However, despite his on-court banter with the fan, James reflected on the Knicks championship win in fifty years and connected it with his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers. “I wouldn't say that.,” James said. “It was a great night for New York fans. Fifty-plus years. I was a part of that at one point where we hadn't won a major championship in Cleveland in over 50 years. The fans will never forget this moment.” (via TMZ)
