Striving for a win, UFC star Alex Pereira might now be considering hanging up his gloves and announcing his retirement. Pereira, 39, a former UFC light heavyweight and middleweight champion, still has goals left to achieve. However, the veteran plans to retire once the results start going against him.
After losing to Ciryl Gane in their Heavyweight championship fight at UFC Freedom 250 at the White House, the Brazilian is looking to make his way back by becoming the UFC's first-ever triple champion.
Pereira has lost two of his last three fights. He is next scheduled to fight Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 335. A victory there could open his path to a showdown with the winner of Ciryl Gane’s title defense against Josh Hokit. However, recently, speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Pereira dropped an unfortunate update about his career's future.
“You gotta learn how to see when it’s your moment and when it’s not,” Pereira said. “If one day I start losing, if things start not going too good, I don’t want to be a stepping stone for nobody to be going up. I’ll just be focusing on enjoying my time and enjoying my money.
