Andoni Iraola adamant Antoine Semenyo has not played final Bournemouth game despite waving goodbye

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola insists Antoine Semenyo has not played his last game for the club.

talkSPORT understands Semenyo’s move to Man City is expected to be formalised imminently.

City have been in talks over the structure of payments for the winger’s release clause of £60million plus add-ons.

Semenyo has already agreed personal terms having favoured a move to City over other Premier League clubs.

The 25-year-old started the draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

This was expected to be his final appearance for Bournemouth, which ended 2-2 – Semenyo getting an assist during the game and also had a penalty harshly given against him for Chelsea’s first goal.

The winger was even seen waving goodbye to the travelling Cherries supporters.

However, manager Iraola is expecting him to play against Arsenal.

When asked about Semenyo’s future, Iraola said: “I don’t know what is going to happen but he will definitely play [vs Arsenal]. This is not his last game.

“He needs to recover because we play Arsenal at home in another three days, against top of the league, he will be an important player for us, yes.”

Semenyo transfer latest

All of the ‘Big Six’ clubs had shown an interest in Semenyo, who is the most in demand player of the January transfer window.

The team he faced on Tuesday, Chelsea, were keen on a move, but quickly pulled out of running.

Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur were also linked with the Ghana international.

talkSPORT previously reported that his release clause needs to be activated in the first ten days of the transfer window.

However, City have moved quickly to ensure the transfer gets done before the window opens.

Semenyo will be a statement signing for City in their push for the Premier League title.

Now he could feature against their biggest title rivals Arsenal on January 3.

Semenyo has nine goals and three assists so far this season for the Cherries.
