AJ Brown’s audacious GOAT parting message to Eagles after Patriots trade
Arguably, the least surprising development in the offseason has been the trade of AJ Brown to the New England Patriots. For months, there were speculations that the Philadelphia Eagles would send Brown to the Patriots after a tumultuous campaign.
The veteran receiver is eager to have a fresh start in New England. His last year in Philadelphia did not go as well as he had hoped, as he saw his role diminish.
Despite the 28-year-old Brown’s acrimonious exit, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo said the Eagles still “have a lot of love” for him. Garafolo added that Brown visited the Eagles’ facility on Thursday to pick up some items and bid goodbye to the squad.
As the cherry on top or the extra sauce on a Philly cheesesteak, Brown left a strong message, as revealed by Garafolo.
“On the walls there, they have pictures of Pro Bowl players, and AJ signed his. They have the players sign. From what I was told, he then added, ‘The best to ever play here. Always open,'” said Garafolo.
“That signature’s gonna stay up on the wall, but they may have to edit out the message.”

The Eagles acquired Brown on draft day in 2022 via a trade with the Tennessee Titans. He instantly became a favorite in Philadelphia with his tenacity and personality.
He helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl in 2025 and was named to the All-Pro Second Team from 2022 to 2024.
But after things went south last season, it seemed Brown had overstayed his welcome in Philadelphia, although Garafolo noted that there are “no hard feelings” between the three-time Pro Bowler and the Eagles.
The Eagles received a fifth-round pick in 2027 and a first-round pick in 2028 from the Patriots in exchange for Brown.
