Aaron Wan-Bissaka wanted in £10m transfer by Premier League club in West Ham raid

Everton are preparing a £10million raid on relegated West Ham for right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, talkSPORT understands.

The Hammers saw their 14-year Premier League stay come to an end on Sunday as they finished two points off safety.

West Ham are expected to lose a number of key players following their relegation.

Mateus Fernandes is a high-profile target for a number of Premier League sides, while El Hadji Malick Diouf has been linked with a move to Manchester United.

And now Everton are starting to circle the London Stadium as they weigh up a £10m move for Wan-Bissaka.

The Toffees are in the market for a new right-back with Seamus Coleman set to end his 17-year spell on Merseyside this summer.

There is expected to be a fire-sale in east London in the off-season with West Ham needing to raise £150m in player sales to balance the books.

Should Everton pursue their interest in Wan-Bissaka, they’ll hope to strike a deal for the 28-year-old before the 2026 World Cup.

The former United defender will represent DR Congo at the summer showpiece in North America.

However, one player who could end up staying at the club despite relegation is captain Jarrod Bowen.

After dropping into the Championship on Sunday, Bowen said: “I’m under contract here. I’ve been here for six-and-a-half years. I’ve had some really high moments and this is a low moment that will outweigh everything.

“There’s going to be rumours, there’s going to be talk. Ultimately, what I see is getting this club back in the Premier League because that is where it deserves to be.”

The England international has since released a statement on Instagram, penning: “It’s hard to post something like this when all you’re feeling is embarrassment and pain,” Bowen wrote.

“I could write loads trying to explain where it all went wrong this season, but honestly what you deserve from me is an apology.

“Winning that trophy in Prague was the best night of my career. Sunday was the worst.

“We just weren’t good enough. Simple as that. And that’s why the season ended the way it did.

“To the fans, you didn’t let us down once. The support home and away never changed, even when things weren’t good enough from us on the pitch. We should have given you more. You deserved more.

“One thing I know about this club is that it has the desire and fight to bounce back from this. This club belongs in the Premier League and deserves to be back there as soon as possible.”

Bowen to Liverpool?

talkSPORT pundit Danny Murphy, meanwhile, believes Liverpool should push to sign Bowen as a potential replacement for the outgoing Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian will leave Anfield this summer, bringing an end to a nine-year stay on Merseyside.

Murphy, meanwhile, revealed to Natalie Sawyer on Monday’s Kick Off that Bowen making the move to Liverpool would be a sensible one, even if it might mean a shift in policy.

“I wouldn’t be disappointed seeing him at Liverpool,” the former midfielder said.

“I know you alluded to that before because I think he’s got goals in him. He’s got assists in him, he’s durable. I think he’s good enough.

“There’s a criteria generally that Liverpool stick to, more or less, when they sign players, and he doesn’t really fit in that in terms of age, potential profit and all those types of things.

“So it’d be a change of tact, but I think if you want value for money, you might just get him for a fee that you wouldn’t be able to get (a top quality player).

“You’re going to have to pay for a top quality player on that right hand side. You’re going to have to pay £50m to £80m, aren’t you.

“But with him going down to the Championship, I reckon you’d be looking at maybe £20m, £30m at most.

“But let’s say it was £20m because he’s desperate to get out and then get him off the wage bill, then it’s no risk.”
