76ers’ Nick Nurse applauds Joel Embiid for battling through injuries in Knicks series
Philadelphia 76ers head coach Nick Nurse continues to give Joel Embiid flowers for battling through injuries throughout the playoffs, despite losing their second-round series against the New York Knicks in a 4-0 sweep. The Knicks closed out the 76ers’ season in Game 4’s 144-114 win.
Nurse commended Embiid for batting through a right ankle sprain and a hip injury during his postgame media availability, per PHLY Sports’ Kyle Neubeck.
“I commend him man, he worked his ass off to get out there and play,” Nurse said. “He certainly was trending upward toward the end of the Boston series…obviously, he gets the hip, ankle, injury that took him out a game, and I don’t think he ever got back to where he was trending”
Joel Embiid led the 76ers with 24 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
