49ers’ Nick Bosa sounded far from thrilled about Australia trip
The San Francisco 49ers are going on a field trip to start the year! The Niners will be one of the two teams who will play the first-ever NFL game in Australia when they take on the Los Angeles Rams. For many players, it’s an awesome opportunity to visit a different country. However, it seems like star DE Nick Bosa didn’t sound too thrilled about the prospect of playing in Australia.
Bosa was asked by a few reporters about what he’s most excited about to see in Australia. The 49ers star seemed unenthusiastic, sighing before admitting that he doesn’t know a lot about the country. He did say that he heard that Australia has good coffee, so he’s excited to try that out.

Both Bosa and George Kittle will be travelling to Australia with the 49ers for their Week 1 game against the Rams. That being said, they still aren’t exactly locks to play in Week 1 of the season. Of the two, Kittle is more likely to suit up against Los Angeles. Bosa, on the other hand, is still recovering from his injury, but he’s expressed optimism that he’ll suit up for his team to start the season.
Bosa suffered a torn ACL just three weeks into the 2025 season. This was an unfortunate development for the 49ers star, who was coming off one of his best seasons in recent memory. In his last healthy season in 2024, Bosa played 14 games and recorded nine sacks, 30 tackles, a forced fumble, a pass deflection, and an interception. Bosa already had two sacks and two forced fumbles in his three games before being ruled out.
Even if Bosa doesn’t end up playing or is put on a snap count for Week 1, the 49ers are confident in their ability to get production from their other pass-rushers. Defensive coordinator Raheem Morris had this to say earlier this week.
“I feel pretty deep there,” Morris said when asked about the 49ers’ depth. “Obviously, we had a bunch of guys, got a couple of guys claimed. Well, one guy claimed in particular, but we have some young guys we brought in here this year… You got a bunch of different people in it that can play, give you some good rotational pieces to do some good things.”
