4-star IOL picks LSU over Auburn, Rutgers and Tennessee

LSU football is stacking College Football Recruiting wins with Lane Kiffin now at the helm. Including preventing cornerback recruit Markez Davis from landing with Texas Tech. Now the Tigers boosted the trenches in beating Auburn, Rutgers and Tennessee for Terrance Smith.

The standout from Lansdale Catholic in Pennsylvania confirmed his decision to Hayes Fawcett of On3/Rivals Monday. Smith even let out a “Let’s Geaux!” message in his commitment.

Kiffin lands a still growing 6-foot-6, 285-pound talent here. His assistants Sawyer Jordan (inside wide receivers coach) and Joe Cox (co-offensive coordinator/tight ends coach) led the charge to land the east coast talent.

Smith, again, turns down two Southeastern Conference rivals and a Big Ten representative for LSU. But he dipped into why with Chad Simmons on On3/Rivals after his commitment.

“I’ve always been looking for the same three things in a school: relationships, culture and development,” Smith explained to Simmons. “These schools all checked those boxes, but LSU just made the most sense for me.”

He added how he felt a “family feel” at Baton Rouge. Smith described Kiffin as a “super smart” guy especially on the strategic side for offenses.

Kiffin and LSU now hold 10 verbal commits for the 2027 recruiting cycle and ranks 36th nationally per 247Sports. But feature two five-star commits in edge rusher KJ Green and tight end Ahmad Hudson, the latter hailing out of Ruston, Louisiana.

Smith brings line versatility as a guard and tackle option for down the road. LSU fans should love his ability to play at multiple spots.
