2 Astros players exit game vs. Rockies with apparent injuries
The Houston Astros and Colorado Rockies are in the middle of their last game of the series, and the Rockies have had the advantage throughout the week, winning the first two matchups. The Astros are already down in the final matchup, and things have not gotten better for them, as two players went down with injuries, according to Chandler Rome of The Athletic.
The first player was Jake Meyers.
“Jake Meyers is exiting this game after appearing to injure himself on a check-swing. He is holding his side,” Rome wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Shortly after, Rome reported that Javier had to leave the game.
“Cristian Javier is leaving this game with a trainer before the second inning begins,” Rome wrote.
To make matters worse, a third player went down 30 minutes later.
“And now Christian Vázquez is being visited by the trainer after taking a foul tip off his hand,” Rome continued.
This was not the best news for the Astros to hear throughout this game, and it makes sense why they’re struggling early against the Rockies. The hope is that all three players don’t have serious injuries, and if they’re not able to return in this game, they can come back sooner rather than later.
So far this season, the Astros have been up and down, and injuries won’t help them to get on track. Luckily for the Astros, there is still a lot of season left, but health will be important if they want any chances of staying afloat.
