1 of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day teaser posters with Zendaya brings major Spider-Man 2 vibes

New posters for Spider-Man: Brand New Day have dropped, and one features Tom Holland’s fiancée, Zendaya, front and center, which harkens back to the Tobey Maguire-led Spider-Man 2.

Sony and Marvel dropped new posters for Brand New Day late on Monday, Apr. 13, 2026. One of them features a close-up of Holland’s Spider-Man mask with New York City in the background.

Zendaya’s MJ can be seen in one of his eyes with a sunset behind her in the New York City skyline. Even if MJ doesn’t remember Peter Parker, it appears she still plays a big role in his life.

This poster is reminiscent of one of the posters for Spider-Man 2, which was released in 2004. It similarly features a key character in one of Spider-Man’s eyes; however, it was Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus rather than MJ. He is holding Mary Jane Watson, played by Kirsten Dunst, in the poster.

The other poster features The Hand, a group of mystical ninjas who will be returning in Brand New Day after debuting in Netflix’s Daredevil series in 2016.

Once again, New York City serves as the backdrop for the action. Spider-Man is swinging ahead of The Hand ninjas, who are all wielding swords.

Zendaya’s role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Zendaya returns as MJ in Brand New Day. However, she will not start the movie as Peter’s girlfriend, as she did in No Way Home. The last Holland-led Spider-Man movie concluded with Doctor Strange putting a spell on the world. This caused everyone to forget who he was.

The trailer suggests that Peter faces a moral dilemma. Of course, he wants MJ to remember him, but the reason he put the spell in place was to protect his friends.

It has been a busy year for Zendaya. She stars in The Drama, which just came out in theaters. Euphoria Season 3 also returned to HBO after a four-year break. This summer, she will star alongside Holland in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. Two weeks later, Brand New Day comes out. She will also close out the year by starring in Dune: Part Three, reprising her role of Chani.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released on July 31.
