MLB insider Mark Feinsand later reported the financial details.

“Yennier Cano gets $7.5 million guaranteed over 2027-2028, with a $10 million club option for 2029, per source. The option can escalate based on games finished.”

The timing of the deal is no coincidence.

With the trade deadline just around the corner and the Orioles sitting 2.5 games out of the final American League Wild Card spot, Baltimore is signaling that it values stability in the back end of its bullpen. Rather than allowing uncertainty to linger, the front office has locked up one of its key relievers for at least two additional seasons. That’s a smart piece of business.
