Yankees’ Trent Grisham reveals crucial knee injury update before Blue Jays game

New York Yankees outfielder Trent Grisham is dealing with a knee injury. On Thursday, he shared an important update, via Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.

“Trent Grisham said imaging showed no structural damage. ‘It’s a relief.’ He is hoping to be available off the bench tonight in an emergency,” Grisham said.

There was concern about the injury, but it seems as if Grisham will be alright.

The Yankees will certainly continue to monitor and provide updates on Grisham’s knee injury. Assuming no setbacks occur, he could return to playing sooner rather than later. He may even end up being available off the bench on Thursday if necessary.

Grisham, 29, is hitting just .174/.305/.348 across 49 games played so far during the 2026 MLB season. He has six home runs and seven doubles, but the outfielder has struggled for the most part from an offensive standpoint.

The Yankees know that Grisham provides the ball club with value, however. He can make an impact in the outfield on defense. Additionally, Grisham hit a career-high 34 home runs in 2025.

Overall, New York is 30-20 and in second place in the American League East standings. The Yankees currently trail the Tampa Bay Rays by four games in the division. New York is just 4-6 over its past 10 contests, though.

The Yankees are looking to clinch a series win against the Blue Jays on Thursday night. They lead the series 2-1 at the moment heading into the matchup. First pitch for the Blue Jays and Yankees game on Thursday is scheduled for 7:05 PM EST in New York.
