Wolves vs Chelsea predictions
Chelsea were unable to overturn a 3-2 first-leg deficit in the second instalment of their EFL Cup semi-final against Arsenal on Tuesday. But despite their exit from the competition, Liam Rosenior will be pretty happy with where his team is at.
The former Strasbourg head coach will mark one month in the job on Friday. His appointment was not universally welcomed by Chelsea fans, but Rosenior appears to have won a few of them over.
That is not to say Rosenior’s Chelsea have been perfect, but the new boss has guided the team into the top eight of the Champions League and the fourth round of the FA Cup. Most importantly, he has won three out of three in the Premier League.
Chelsea did not have everything their own way in those matches. The west London derby against Brentford was an even affair, but the Blues were more clinical with the chances that came their way in a 2-0 triumph.
A 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace was more comfortable, although Chelsea were put under pressure late on despite the fact their opponents had been reduced to 10 men.
Last weekend, a dire first-half display against West Ham United saw Chelsea go in at the break 2-0 down.
But after some smart tactical tweaks from Rosenior, the hosts turned things around at Stamford Bridge to win 3-2. That result means Chelsea have won three league games on the bounce for only the second time since May.
The Premier League looks set to receive five Champions League qualification spots again this term, but Chelsea cannot afford to rest on their laurels.
Manchester United are on the up, while Liverpool were much improved in a 4-1 victory over Newcastle United last time out. Even the likes of Brentford or Sunderland could mount a challenge. Even so, the picture looks better for Chelsea now than it did at the beginning of 2026.
“My biggest learning is there’s a spirit and a fight and a resilience in this group that I really, really like,” Rosenior said after the comeback against West Ham.
“I’ve demanded that from the first day of stepping in. We haven’t had many training sessions, but we’ve spoken about reacting positively to setbacks.
“We’ve spoken about reactions to losing the ball, pressing, energy, intensity. All of that was there in the second half, which wasn’t there in the first half.”
Wolves vs Chelsea betting tips
Chelsea continue their top-five push with a trip to Molineux to face Wolves this weekend.
Chelsea to triumph
Wolverhampton Wanderers are on their way to the Championship.
This has been a miserable campaign for the club from the Black Country and, with 18 points between them and Nottingham Forest in 17th, relegation is a near-certainty.
Rob Edwards’s team are playing for pride in their 14 remaining matches, while they will also be keen to surpass Derby County’s record low of 11 Premier League points, for which a win and draw is needed.
Wolves are unlikely to get either on Saturday. Chelsea will dust themselves down from Tuesday’s 1-0 loss to Arsenal and resume their fine form in the league.
An away victory is the way to go for this game at Molineux.

Attacks over defences
Most of Chelsea’s matches under Rosenior have been entertaining affairs.
In their eight games under the former defender’s stewardship, the Blues have found the back of the net 19 times.
There have been over 2.5 goals in five of those eight matches, so there is a decent chance it will pay out on Saturday.
Wolves’s defence has struggled all season long, with 45 goals conceded in their 24 league games to date.
Chelsea should get plenty of chances in this one and we are likely to see a few goals at Molineux.

Joao Pedro in fine form
Joao Pedro looks to be enjoying himself under the management of Rosenior.
No Chelsea player has been more prolific since the change in the dugout, with the Brazil international having made the net ripple five times in his last six appearances.
“I have had very, very good conversations with Joao already, probably four in my office – I think he’s sick of my office! – where I’ve said to him, if you play with intensity given your quality, that quality comes out,” Rosenior said last month.
We are certainly seeing his quality at the moment. Chelsea’s No.20 can get his name on the scoresheet again this weekend.
