Wild Karl-Anthony Towns streak continues in cinematic Game 2 win over Spurs

Karl-Anthony Towns psyched up New York Knicks fans with a huge first half versus the San Antonio Spurs. He continued an uncanny personal streak in leading the Game 2 NBA Finals win 105-104 on Friday.

Yet this streak isn’t basketball related. But instead movie related as Nicole Auerbach of NBC Sports pointed out.

“The Knicks still have not lost a game since KAT’s cameo in the Devil Wears Prada 2,” Auerbach posted on the social media website X, formerly Twitter.

Perhaps KAT will owe a thank you card to actresses Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt or even director David Frankel soon.

But Knicks fans are thanking the big man for placing NYK two wins away from ending the 53-year title dry spell.

KAT shook up the Frost Bank Center venue early by slipping past Victor Wembanyama for this fierce dunk.

Towns played facilitator too, especially during this dime to Mikal Bridges.

The former Minnesota Timberwolves star dropped 17 points with seven rebounds once halftime hit. He nailed 3-of-5 too from 3-point land. He even delivered an imprint on defense too, more so containing Wemby to just seven first half points.

KAT ended the evening hitting a double-double: 21 points and grabbing 13 rebounds in controlling the glass. He’s surpassed the double figure points mark now twice during this series. But he’s showing the grit against a taller and more physical foe in San Antonio. Plus Towns appears to be silencing the critics, which Chandler Parsons pointed out.

The Knicks return to a loud and anxious crowd inside Madison Square Garden Monday evening.
