Why Tom Brady is so excited about Raiders hiring Seahawks ‘genius’ Klint Kubiak after Super Bowl win
Klint Kubiak passed his final Las Vegas Raiders audition with flying colors.
In front of new boss Tom Brady, the Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator masterminded victory at Super Bowl LX.

Head coach Mike Macdonald’s formidable ‘Dark Side’ defense earned plaudits, but he admitted that success wouldn’t have been possible without his OC.
Kubiak, whose triumph at Levi’s Stadium followed his father Gary’s triumph on the same turf with the Denver Broncos a decade ago, immediately revealed that he was heading to Vegas.
“You guys know I’m going to Las Vegas, so I’m fired up about it,” he beamed. “Hell yeah, of course I’m going.”
After seeing defensive-minded coach Pete Carroll fail in Sin City, Brady has turned to one of the NFL‘s brightest offensive minds.
What will Klint Kubiak bring to Las Vegas?
Kubiak appears to be an ideal fit to turn around one of the worst offenses in the NFL.
Macdonald is definitely a fan.
“I’m really happy for Klint. Without him, we wouldn’t be here. Team first, brilliant mind, great coach,” he said after the victory. “Happy for Klint, he’s a world champ, and we’ll see what happens in the next couple days.”
Former NFL quarterback turned analyst Chase Daniel turned the spotlight on Kubiak’s masterful Super Bowl in a game where defenses dominated.
The Seahawks deployed two tight ends and wideout Cooper Kupp on the same side to overload the Pats from the very first play.
Knowing New England dominated up front, running back Kenneth Walker was deployed on outside runs and racked up 135 rushing yards including some chunk plays.

Then, as the Patriots secondary tried to fill the gaps, tight end AJ Barner was sent up the seam for Seattle’s only offensive touchdown early in the fourth quarter.
The gameplan earned Walker the MVP award and will have Raiders fans excited.
Sixth overall pick Ashton Jeanty’s rookie season was ruined by a terrible offensive line, shoddy quarterback play and OC Chip Kelley’s lack of imagination.
The O-line will probably take more than one offseason to fix, but presumed No. 1 pick Fernando Mendoza may lead to an improvement under center and Kubiak has more in his locker than Kelley at this stage of their respective careers.
The 38-year-old’s work with Sam Darnold will also have caught Brady’s eye.
No quarterback has ever won the Vince Lombardi Trophy on his fifth team, but Kubiak was able to pick up where the Minnesota Vikings left off and devise a gameplan that suited the former first-round pick’s talents to a tee.
NFL's Greatest......
Ranking the top 10......
Quarterbacks of all-time – Can anyone better Tom Brady?
Wide receivers of all-time – Does Randy Moss or Jerry Rice come out on top?
Running backs of all-time – Stacking Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Emmitt Smith and more
Tight ends of all-time – How does Travis Kelce compare?
Does Fernando Mendoza need more help?
Geno Smith had an awful season, but it was not entirely his fault.
While well stocked at tight end with Brock Bowers and Michael Mayer, the Raiders had few pass-catching weapons.
Smith would certainly have benefited from Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
The all-world receiver dominated the NFL and doubtless helped Kubiak’s reputation.

A similar talent will be hard to find, but Kubiak may not need one.
JSN was limited to 27 yards on four catches in an injury-hit Super Bowl LX as Kupp led the team with 61 yards.
While some dart throws on the second and third days of April’s NFL Draft wouldn’t hurt, Kubiak will hopefully be able to make up for a lack of talent out wide with his play-calling.
A big fan of sending his offense out in 12 personnel, Bowers and Meyer are both better than anything he had to work with in Seattle.
Jeanty is also an underrated receiver — definitely more so than the heavy-handed Walker — and offers another short-yardage outlet.
It may be a little bit dink and dunk, but if Mendoza is indeed the pick at No. 1, Kubiak will scheme open gimmes for the rookie which can help make up for some of the shortcomings up front and down the field.
Don’t bet on Las Vegas to be playing a part when the Super Bowl returns to California in 2027, but don’t rule out Brady from seeing his latest gamble pay off either.
