Andre Russell showed a glimpse of his renowned power game during the Abu Dhabi T10 2025 clash between Deccan Gladiators and Ajman Titans on Wednesday, November 26, at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium. The Caribbean legend made the boundary look tiny with his brute force after he was sent out to open the innings with Tom Kohler-Cadmore.

In pursuit of a 110-run target, Deccan would have hoped for a quickfire start from their openers. Russell started his knock with a boundary off the first ball he faced. Left-arm pacer Wasim Akram was at the receiving end. The UAE speedster bowled right in the slot in the following delivery, and Russell launched him nonchalantly for a massive six.

The ball went sailing over the mid-wicket fence and landed outside the stadium. His bat speed and the sheer height and distance the ball achieved underscored his ability as a power hitter. Russell didn't even look to see how far the ball went as he knew he had nailed it right from the middle of the bat.

Russell, however, was dismissed in the second over, as Akif Javed sent him packing for a six-ball 13. The latter got the better of Marcus Stoinis off the following delivery, sending the fellow Ajman players into a frenzy.

Kohler-Cadmore and captain Nicholas Pooran tried to resurrect the ship, but once they were dismissed, the rest of the batters couldn't do justice to their potential. Javed was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with mind-boggling figures of 3/5 in two overs. He eventually won the Player of the Match award as the Titans emerged victorious by 21 runs.

Russell, who was recently released by Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the IPL 2026 mini-auction, has not had a great outing thus far with the bat in the Abu Dhabi T10 League. In four innings, he has scored 35 runs at a strike rate of 140. Deccan will play their final match in the round-robin phase of the tournament against Vista Riders on Friday, November 28. Both teams are in contention to make the playoffs.
