Former India opener Aakash Chopra recently took part in a fun blind-ranking challenge where he was asked to rank India’s most memorable moments in T20 World Cup history, without knowing what moment would come next. The video, which has been making the rounds on social media, quickly grabbed attention for the surprising order in which Chopra placed some iconic moments.

During the segment, Chopra was shown different historic moments one by one and had to slot each into a ranking list purely based on instinct and impact. As expected, the challenge became tricky as, one after another, many historic and significant moments kept popping up.

Virat Kohli’s shot of the century, a historic six over long-off against Haris Rauf in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, found itself at third place in Chopra’s list. Then came the moment that claimed the top spot of this list. The former Delhi batter did not hesitate to pick Sreesanth’s catch during the final of the 2007 T20 WC final against Pakistan. Sreesanth had taken Misbah-ul-Haq’s catch under immense pressure.

Surprisingly, the ace commentator slotted Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 82 off 51 balls against Australia in Mohali during the 2016 T20 World Cup at number five on his list. He then placed Suryakumar Yadav’s jaw-dropping boundary catch from the 2024 T20 World Cup final at number two. SKY’s stunning grab to dismiss David Miller proved to be a turning point in the contest, eventually paving the way for India to lift the trophy.

Meanwhile, Chopra ranked Yuvraj Singh’s legendary six sixes in an over during the 2007 T20 World Cup at the fourth position. The left-hander had etched his name into cricketing folklore by hammering Stuart Broad for six consecutive maximums against England, a moment that remains one of the most iconic in T20 history.

Aakash Chopra hails the decision to drop Shubman Gill from T20s

While speaking on his YouTube channel, the 48-year-old reacted to the Indian team management’s decision to drop opening batter Shubman Gill from the squad for the upcoming twenty-team tournament.

"Shubman Gill was the vice-captain earlier, and now he is not even part of the team. It's never too late to make a change. You shouldn't feel ashamed while doing the right thing. Why should one be stubborn? Sometimes one sticks to it because there will be public humiliation," said Chopra.

India will be co-hosting the T20 World Cup 2026 along with Sri Lanka. The defending champions will face the United States of America in the opening encounter on February 7 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
