US heavyweight prospect, 21, one of two additions to Ryan Garcia vs Conor Benn undercard

Da’Mazion Vanhouter, an American heavyweight prospect, is one of the new additions to the Ryan Garcia vs Conor Benn bill.

Garcia and Benn will meet in one of the biggest US boxing events of the year on September 12 in Las Vegas.

The world title clash will give a chance for some of Zuffa Boxing’s biggest talent to get the grandest platform of their careers.

Jai Opetaia, who has already fought on huge bills, will act as chief support for the card in a cruiserweight clash with Noel Mikaelian.

But now two new additions have been made to the bill including an American heavyweight talent.

Vanhouter will now make his next Zuffa Boxing bow against Raphael Akpejiori in an eight-round contest.

It will be his third appearance under Dana White‘s newly formed banner, having stopped Julian Gomez and Raphael Murphy in an active year so far.

The 21-year-old is being tipped to go right to the top of the division by Dana White and his handlers.

And a statement KO on by far his biggest stage yet will be enough to get the American public purring at the prospect of a future star to fill Deontay Wilder‘s void.

Also added to the bill is Mark Magsayo, a Filipino lightweight who has faced comparison and endorsement from Manny Pacquiao.

He will face Andres Cortes in a ten-round lightweight encounter, looking to make his own impression under the sin city lights.

The commercial blockbuster night is already selling well, and White will hope it can help build his new generation of boxing future talents.

Who is Da’Mazion Vanhouter?

Vanhouter has generated a reputation as a gifted amateur winning ten national titles in the US during his rise as a teenager.

But the 6ft 3ins natural looking heavyweight hasn’t always fought in the division, having had success in multiple divisions as far down as super-welterweight.

While growing, the KO artist has moved through the weights and taken pit stops at cruiserweight and light-heavyweight.

Now he sees his long-term future in the blue-riband division and is hopeful of pushing on to a very decent level.

The US heavyweight division has yet to produce the heights of Mike Tyson and Wilder right now.

And there will always be big hopes around the likes of Vanhouter to try and produce the goods and become a superstar.
