UFC White House card has fight called off hours before announcement as Dana White rocked

It is White House Down for Dana White, who has lost one fight from his historic UFC card.

An announcement is expected this weekend during the broadcast of UFC 326 this weekend of the full card for the historic card.

The show, endorsed by US president Donald Trump, will take place on the South Lawn on June 14 with some of UFC’s top fighting brass set to feature.

This includes the likes of Conor McGregor, Jon Jones, Ilia Topuria and many more who have been rumoured to be taking to the cage on the bill.

But the logistical plan to announce it in 24 hours has taken a major blow as revealed by UFC president White.

He explained how he had just received news that a bout had been pulled from the card at short notice.

White said on a live stream: “I’ll tell you something about the White House fight.

“So we’ve been working on this thing non-stop and one of the fights literally just fell out when I walked in here.

“I think Hunter [Campbell] k***ed himself. One of the fights fell off tonight, brutal.”

It is unclear which fight or which fighter withdrew from the card, but details could well become clear this week.

The full bill is expected to be announced imminently with suggestions there are around 6-7 fights to form the event.

Who could feature on the UFC White House card?

Several big names have been lined up with McGregor seen for months as the most likely to headline the event.

But reports have recently indicated his comeback could land elsewhere, with International Fight Week also a possibility.

Jones recently revealed he was in negotiations to fight on the card, with Brazilian superstar Alex Pereira a rumoured opponent in a switch to heavyweight.

Topuria’s title defence against Justin Gaethje has also been mooted as an option for the bill, after the latter beat Paddy Pimblett.

A return for Amanda Nunes in a title fight with Kayla Harrison also seems a likely fit for the card.

White has refused to give anything away and insists it has been a military operation to keep the announcement secret.

He said: “We’ve been so secretive about this.

“I’ve got boards, which I’m sure you’ve seen, hanging in our War Room. This isn’t even on the boards.

“We bring in a whiteboard, we write the fights down, and then erase them every time we have a matchmaking meeting.

“Usually, matchmaking meetings are every Tuesday. They’ve been every day for the past two weeks.”
