Ayodele was Joshua’s strength and conditioning coach, while Ghami worked for more than a decade as his sport and exercise rehabilitation coach.

Fans, promoters and fighters all sent messages of support, including British heavyweight rival Fury, who is set to fight Joshua in 2026.

The former world champion posted on Instagram: “This is so sad. May God give them a good bed in heaven.”

His father, John, also uploaded a touching video of his own to pay his respects.

He said: “AJ you’ve got a guardian angel my friend.

“God has his arms wrapped around you then.

“Condolences to the deceased.”

The accident came just 10 days after 33 million fans tuned in worldwide to watch AJ claim a brutal stoppage win over Jake Paul in a very one sided match in Miami.

Having returned to winning ways after a 15-month hiatus from the sport, Joshua was in Nigeria to enjoy some downtime.

The former champion was born to British-Nigerian parents and attended a boarding school in the country before returning to Britain, where he was born, at the age of 12.
