Tottenham Hotspur should sell Micky van de Ven for £100million – they already have ready-made replacement
Tottenham Hotspur have been told that selling Micky van de Ven for £100million is a no-brainer with Luka Vuskovic waiting in the wings.
Van de Ven is believed to be pushing to leave Spurs this summer, talkSPORT understands, but the club won’t make it easy for him.

Thomas Frank‘s side values the in-demand Dutchman, who is under contract until 2029, in excess of £100m.
Such a transfer would make Van de Ven, a £43m arrival from Wolfsburg in 2023, the most expensive defender in football history.

Liverpool are one of the clubs credited with an interest in the 24-year-old, who was on the radar prior to his move to north London.
Van de Ven himself even revealed last month that he turned down an approach from Arne Slot when the Reds boss was at Feyenoord.
Asked whether Spurs should sell if Slot returned for his compatriot with a world-record offer, Sonny Snelling told talkSPORT’s Inside Spurs panel: “A hundred million for a centre-back who is still known for having that injury record?
“Yeah, I think you have to, it’s a no-brainer to me. I feel like we can invest that money in maybe other areas.
“And I think we’ve already got a ready-made replacement to come into the team and take over for him. Luka Vuskovic.”
Tottenham loanee Vuskovic has proved to be a sensation so far during his season-long stint at returning Bundesliga outfit, Hamburg.
Spurs signed the 18-year-old in September 2023, a month after Van de Ven, but he has yet to play a competitive senior game for the club.

The Croatian scored and assisted on his unofficial Tottenham debut in a 2-0 pre-season win under Thomas Frank against Reading in July.
Ex-Spurs boss Martin Jol predicted that Vuskovic will be better than Cristian Romero, and so far, the youngster has lived up to the hype.
Vuskovic has three goals in 15 Bundesliga appearances this season and ranks among the best in the division for aerial duals won.
In fact, the two-cap Croatia international even saw off Harry Kane to claim the fan-voted Bundesliga Player of the Season So Far award.
“He’s still young, still got a lot to learn,” Snelling added on Inside Spurs. “But I think he could come in and make a real big difference.
“I am going to caveat that with, even though we put that £100m price tag, I rate that from Spurs, because one, I don’t think he will go for that, I think £80[m], but I love the back-off.

“This is, if you want him, come get him. And my prediction is I don’t think it will happen this calendar year.
“He’s got three years left on his deal. We have all the power here.
It’s almost like [Daniel] Levy’s overseeing it. It’s very Levy that, isn’t it?
“’If you want him, come get him, and I’m going to rinse you for every penny you’ve got.’
“As long as you guarantee that Romero stays, yeah, I’d sell him. I just think it’s £100m. It’s £100m.
“And I think, annoyingly, I wouldn’t want him to go to Liverpool because he would be phenomenal there.”
