All eyes are on the Las Vegas Raiders and their exciting rebuild.

In possession of the No.1 overall pick of the 2026 NFL Draft, the struggling franchise are expected to take quarterback Fernando Mendoza.

The Heisman Trophy winner led the Indiana Hoosiers to the national championship, and an undefeated 16-0 record in 2025, which puts them amongst the greatest college football teams.

Mendoza is the most exciting name in this year’s draft class, and is almost a lock for Sin City.

The Raiders are set to strengthen across the board, and have already named a recently-minted Super Bowl champion as their new head coach.

Pete Carroll was fired following a dismal year that saw Las Vegas finish 3-14, and minority owner Tom Brady worked closely with general manager John Spytek to find his replacement.

Klint Kubiak, who served as the Seattle Seahawks‘ offensive coordinator in a Super Bowl-winning season, is the man hired to take the Raiders to new heights.

He is expected to draft the NFL’s next big quarterback, and will have plenty of money to build around Mendoza.

Heading into 2026, the Raiders are projected to have around $90 million in cap space, and could add some big free agents to their roster.

Tom Brady’s Raiders could land top offensive weapon in free agency

Las Vegas needs to make improvements in the trenches, as their offensive line was ranked the worst in the NFL last season.

This year’s free agent class is stacked with O-line talent, so the Raiders should have their pick of the likes of Tyler Linderbaum, Isaac Seumalo, David Edwards — or any of the five big men expected to depart the Cleveland Browns.

Brady and the front office could also look to make a statement signing, and have been named the best fit for Romeo Doubs.

The Green Bay Packers star has been named by PFF as the top ‘under the radar’ free-agent wide receiver in 2026, and he could really boost the offense that Mendoza is expected to walk into.

While his stats don’t jump off the page — Doubs had 724 yards and six touchdowns from 55 receptions last season — he would offer a reliable target for a team in desperate need of improvement.

The 25-year-old also established himself as quarterback Jordan Love’s go-to guy in clutch situations for the Packers, and is a first-down machine, with 76.4 percent of his catches moving the chains last year.

He went for 124 yards and a touchdown against the Chicago Bears in the playoffs last month, and while Green Bay’s season ended in disappointment, the wideout certainly put himself in the shop window.

Would Romeo Doubs be a good fit for the Raiders?

ESPN’s Matt Bowen believes Las Vegas is the perfect landing spot for Doubs.

“The Raiders can add to their wide receivers room for new coach Klint Kubiak by signing Doubs,” Bowen wrote, in a piece published this week.

“His ability to uncover and work the heavy traffic areas of the field would be great for anticipated top pick Fernando Mendoza.

“A reliable pass catcher, Doubs had 55 receptions for 724 yards with the Packers in 2025.”

Should Doubs land in Las Vegas, he would be another young weapon to join an offensive group that is headlined by 23-year-old tight end Brock Bowers and running back Ashton Jeanty, 22.

With the expected arrival of Mendoza, also 22, the Raiders would have one of the most exciting young units in the NFL.
