Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski reunite to break silence about Bill Belichick Hall of Fame controversy

Bill Belichick will not be allowed in the Pro Football Hall of Fame this year.

That stunning news brought Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski back together while the New England Patriots are preparing for Super Bowl LX.

Brady loudly backs his longtime coach

Brady and Gronkowski both issued messages following an inexplicable snub of Belichick, who wasn’t voted into the Hall of Fame during his first year of eligibility on the ballot.

New England owner Robert Kraft — who still could make the Hall of Fame in 2026 — also broke his silence about a decision that has overshadowed the build up to Super Bowl LX between the Seattle Seahawks and Patriots.

“I don’t understand it,” Brady said on Seattle Sports 710 AM.

“I was with him every day. If he’s not a first-ballot Hall of Famer, there’s really no coach that should ever be a first-ballot Hall of Famer, which is completely ridiculous, because people deserve it, and he’s incredible.

“There’s no coach I’d ever want to play — I’d rather play for. If I’m taking one coach to go out there to win a Super Bowl, give me one season, I’m taking Bill Belichick. So that’s enough said.”

Gronkowski was also dumbfounded by the decision to keep Belichick out of the Hall of Fame this year.

Belichick is widely regarded as the GOAT of football coaches.

He has eight Super Bowl rings, won six world championship trophies leading the New England Patriots, and was the primary hand in a two-decade dynasty that helped establish the NFL as the most powerful force in global sports.

Gronk in disbelief after snub

“Absolutely a****** that he did not make it into the Hall of Fame as a first ballot,” Gronkowski told 98.5 The Sports Hub.

“The guy has won more Super Bowls than anyone out there, six with the New England Patriots, two with the New York Giants as a defensive coordinator.

“This guy has touched so many lives. He has shared so much knowledge with the game of football. There are so many players and other coaches out there and fans as well, and he’s still sharing his knowledge being at the University of North Carolina.

“He deserved to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer. He’s clearly going to get in in the future, but it should’ve happened yesterday. That was a mistake.”

Kraft also issued a statement in support of Belichick, who went 302-165 in the regular season as an NFL head coach, 31-13 in the playoffs and appeared in nine Super Bowls as the Patriots’ coach.

Kraft speaks up for former coach

“Whatever perceptions may exist about any personal differences between Bill and me, I strongly believe Bill Belichick’s record and body of work speak for themselves,” Kraft said.

“As head coach of the New England Patriots for more than two decades, he set the standard for on-field excellence, preparation, and sustained success in the free agency and salary cap era of The National Football League.

“He is the greatest coach of all time and he unequivocally deserves to be a unanimous first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer.”

Yet Belichick isn’t, and that led to a 24-hour media circus after he was barred from entry by voters.

Patrick Mahomes and J.J. Watt stood up for Belichick, while two-time Super Bowl winner and Hall of Fame member Jimmy Johnson issued a social media barrage.

“I would like to know the names of the a******* who did not vote for him,” two-time Super Bowl winning head coach and Hall of Famer Jimmy Johnson tweeted on Tuesday night.

“They are too cowardly to identify themselves.”

Belichick could be voted into the Hall of Fame.

But for Brady, Gronkowski, Johnson and The Hoodie, the damage is already done and won’t be forgotten.
