Hornets shout out Grant Williams after life-changing moment

After the Charlotte Hornets fell short to the Orlando Magic in the NBA Play-In tournament, guard Grant Williams picked himself up in a special way.

On Wednesday, the organization offered its congratulations to Williams on his engagement to his now-fiancée, softball star Kiki Milloy.

“big congrats to our guy Grant and his fiancée Kiki!”. They reposted a picture of the future Mr. and Mrs. Grant Williams during their special moment.

Williams and Milloy are both graduates of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. From 2016 to 2019, Williams became a two-time SEC Player of the Year before being selected as the 22nd overall pick by the Boston Celtics in the 2019 NBA Draft. Meanwhile, Milloy played five years for the Lady Vols softball team. During that time, she led the league in home runs in 2023, and Tennessee made it to the Women’s College World Series for the first time in a decade.

In 2024, Williams was traded to the Hornets from the Dallas Mavericks. Williams made his way back in January after being out for nearly two years due to an ACL injury. He underwent surgery in December 2024.

This season, Williams averaged 7.6 points and 3.9 rebounds per game while shooting 42.6% from the field. Meanwhile, Milloy has played for USA Softball. In 2022, Milloy batted .346 (9-for-26) with 2 home runs and 7 RBIs in the Canada Cup, in which the Americans won. That same year, she batted .222 in the Japan All-Star series. The following year, Milloy hit one home run, racked up four RBIs, and scored five runs in a World Cup stage event.
