Timberwolves news: Anthony Edwards suffers injury scare in Game 1 vs. Spurs
The Minnesota Timberwolves need Anthony Edwards healthy if they’re going to take down the San Antonio Spurs in the second round of the NBA playoffs. They got their guy back for Game 1 to everyone’s surprise, but could it be a mistake?
Edwards was made available for Game 1 between the Timberwolves and Spurs on Monday night, just nine days after suffering a hyperextension of his left knee and a bone bruise. He didn’t start, however, with the Wolves electing to keep their same starting lineup from Games 5 and 6 against the Denver Nuggets.
Through three quarters of play, Anthony Edwards had seven points, three rebounds, and two assists in 15 minutes and 23 seconds of action. While it’s unclear if Edwards was dealing with any kind of minutes restriction entering the game, it would be safe to assume he is in his first game back.
Edwards started the fourth quarter with a flurry, recording 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting in the first five minutes of the period. On one play, however, Edwards appeared to grab at his left knee area in some kind of discomfort.

Could he be dealing with the effects of his injured left knee? It’s difficult to go that far as Edwards did fight through contact to score.
More to come…
