Tiger Woods confirms sensational return decision with Masters looming

Tiger Woods has announced his return to competitive action ahead of the Masters.

Woods, 50, will make his comeback for the final night of the TGL season on Tuesday.

He has held a non-playing role with his Jupiter Links Golf Club throughout 2026, and has not featured on the PGA Tour since July 2024.

The 15-time Major champion underwent back surgery last October, after ‘experiencing pain and lack of mobility.’

Woods has spent the last five months recovering, and will make his TGL return in a do-or-die match-up with Los Angeles Golf Club on March 24.

He has inserted himself into the Jupiter Links lineup and will replace Kevin Kisner, a four-time Tour winner who currently works as an NBC Sports commentator.

TGL confirmed the move late Monday, and took inspiration from Michael Jordan’s iconic NBA return with their social media post.

The trio of Woods, Max Homa and Tom Kim will take on Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Rose and Sahith Theegala of Los Angeles, with Jupiter Links needing to win Match 2 to level the series and force a season decider at the SoFi Cup Finals.

Los Angeles won the first match 6-5, and another win on Tuesday would secure them glory.

A Jupiter Links win, meanwhile, would see Match 3 take place later that evening.

Woods’ return to competitive golf comes just a fortnight before the Masters.

However, there is no indication yet that the five-time winner will be teeing it up at Augusta National.
