Paggane

Didn’t want to side with the odds-on shot but there’s only really one way this will go with how good Paggane has been.

She beat Telepathique by over nine lengths at Carlisle in listed company back in November then won again by a similar margin at Market Rasen when upped to 3m.

Didn’t go as well last time out at 5/2 being beaten by Telepathique in second and Spindleberry in first, with the winner being the big 6/5 favourite.

Paggane didn’t jump that well which should be the main reason she didn’t go as well, but now up against some lesser opponents she’ll be right back up there.

More so with Harry Cobden on board who’s got a 46% strike-rate going into Thursday with 6 wins from just 13 rides in the last two weeks.

Lunar Orbit

Four-year-old gets plenty of weight allowance as the youngster of the field.

His closest rival in the betting, Escort’kheops, is over a stone higher than Lunar Orbit and only rated 3lb higher which should even things out in the weights.

But the tip is on the up and especially so since wind surgery winning first time out since the operation, winning at Market Rasen over 2m in December and should improve further.

Matthias

Also entered into a race at Warwick on Saturday but they could just be finding the right kind of ground and race in general, so if he ends up racing here this will be preferred conditions which can only be a positive for backing.

Placed third last time out which would seem to be unconvincing but he did so off the back of a mammoth 724 days away.

Placed close behind Quebecois in a bumper on his previous race back in December 2023 and should be able to improve given that form, running for the second time since a long layoff and for the second time over hurdles.
