Thunder center Jaylin Williams’ hilarious 4-word reaction to 15-0 start vs. Spurs

After winning Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals against the San Antonio Spurs, many expected the Oklahoma City Thunder to come out strong in Game 3. Facing their rivals in enemy territory, the defending champions had to jump out to an early lead. Thunder fans were eager to see their team’s response to what has been an incredibly physical series.

Instead, they were dismayed to see their team falter to start the game. The Spurs ambushed the Thunder in the opening minutes of Game 3. After San Antonio jumped out to a quick 15-0 lead in the first quarter, fans were immediately worried about what the team would do.

The Thunder, though, showed their championship pedigree flawlessly in Game 3. They clawed their way back into the game, thanks in large part to a spirited effort from their bench. Instead of faltering, OKC was able to turn the tides and win Game 3 123-108.

What was the Thunder’s reaction to suddenly finding themselves in the back seat? Well, OKC center Jaylin Williams summed it up in four words, per Clemente Almanza. Williams said, “I was like, geez.”

Williams, who made four thres in the first half during OKC’s comeback attempt, was also given the unenviable task of guarding Victor Wembanyama. On that note, the Thunder center said that his only job at that point is to make sure Wemby’s life is as hard as possible.

“I know I’m not gonna play as many minutes as he is, so the minutes I’m out there, I’m trying to make his job as tough as I can make it,” Williams said.

With that win, the Thunder now hold a 2-1 series lead and some significant momentum heading into Game 4. OKC now has the chance to go back to their arena with a 3-1 lead and at least one closeout game at home.
