Thomas Frank in new Tottenham Hotspur low as boss is booed off pitch as relegation threat deepens
Tottenham Hotspur’s shocking season continued on Tuesday as they were beaten at home by Newcastle United.
Thomas Frank‘s side have slipped closer to the relegation zone and now sit in 16th spot – just five points above the bottom three.

Spurs had trailed at half-time after Malick Thiaw opened the scoring in first half stoppage time.
Despite clawing themselves back level through Archie Gray, the relief would last just four minutes.
Jacob Ramsey grabbed the winner for the visitors to extend Spurs’ winless league run to eight matches.
It is their longest winless streak in the Premier League for over 17 years.
On that occasion, Juande Ramos went nine matches without tasting victory between May and October 2008.
Meanwhile, results elsewhere have compounded the misery on Frank, who was booed off by his own fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Leeds United came back from two goals down to snatch a point at Chelsea and leapfrog Spurs in the table.
In another blow, West Ham drew with Manchester United to move within five points of their London rivals.
Frank has now won just seven of his 26 Premier League matches in charge, giving him a win rate of 26.9 per cent.
That figure represents the lowest win percentage of any Spurs manager to have taken charge of more than ten matches in the competition.

Thiaw’s opener also marked the ninth time his side have conceded first in the Premier League this season.
No side has done so more times so far this term, with Spurs tied on nine with fellow strugglers Burnley and Wolves.
Despite pressure mounting on Frank, he still believes he will remain as the club’s manager.
Speaking post-match as to whether he feels he will be in charge against Arsenal on February 22, he said: “Yeah. I am convinced I will be. I understand the question.
“It is easy to point on me but it is never only the head coach, ownership, players or staff. It is everyone.
“Everyone knows what position we are in and what we need to improve on. That is what we are working hard on.”

Regarding fan boos, he stated: “I understand the fans’ frustration, it’s a position they don’t want to be in.
We are working day and night to try and change. It’s a position the club have been in the last two years.
“The pattern is the club are struggling to compete in Europe and the Premier League.
“Part of that is to eliminate injuries and suspensions which doesn’t have.
“We face a Newcastle team that has struggled a little bit lately, but I think they were more on top first half and then we came back into it well.
“The second goal is a bit symbolic of our season.”
Frank was appointed by the club in the summer, signing a three-year deal through to 2028.
His side are now without a league victory since beating Crystal Palace away from home on December 28.
Meanwhile, their last home win in the Premier League came against Brentford three weeks earlier.
Spurs’ struggles come after they finished 17th last season, their lowest in the top-flight since relegation in 1977.
Their points tally of 38 was also their lowest in the Premier League era.
They currently have 29 points to their name after 26 matches this term ahead of the north London derby against Arsenal later this month.
