Bet of the Day

Crystal Palace to beat Chelsea @ 13/5

It has been a turbulent time for Crystal Palace, but the Eagles look massively overpriced at home to Chelsea on Sunday.

Key defender Marc Guehi has left for Manchester City and manager Oliver Glasner will be departing south London in the summer.

Palace are without a win in 10 games, but the Eagles have lost only three matches at Selhurst Park this term and the loss of form has been more down to injuries than a huge drop in ability.

Chelsea are hardly in flying form themselves and the Blues have been overrated in this spot.

Liam Rosenior’s men have won only three of their last nine games and one of those victories came against Championship side Charlton in the FA Cup.

The Blues were extremely fortunate to beat west London rivals Brentford 2-0 and a 1-0 midweek Champions League victory over lowly Pafos is hardly an enticing result.

Chelsea lack a top-level striker to make the difference in tight matches and Palace can blunt the Blues.

Special of the Day

Arsenal to win, over 2.5 goals and Leandro Trossard to have a shot on target v Manchester United bet builder @ 2/1

Arsenal are in red-hot pursuit of the Premier League title and the Gunners dismissed a top-level Inter side 3-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Mikel Arteta’s men now look to have a wealth of attacking options with Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, Viktor Gyokeres, Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, Noni Madueke, Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze competing for game time.

The Gunners have fired 17 goals in their last seven games and they will continue to pose a huge threat from set play.

Manchester United have won only three of their 11 Premier League away games and their last two road trips have seen the Red Devils fail to win at Burnley and Leeds.

Complete a three-leg bet builder by punting Trossard to have at least one shot on target. The Belgian is averaging 2.29 shots per 90 in the Premier League this term and that number rises to 3.45 in the Champions League.

United don’t have the control or defensive stability to stop Arsenal creating chances and Trossard should get an opportunity to shine.

Longshot of the Day

Hearts to beat Celtic, Brentford to beat Nottingham Forest and Newcastle to beat Aston Villa treble @ SP

Hearts have beaten Celtic home and away this season and those 3-1 and 2-1 victories have been comprehensive and convincing successes.

Martin O’Neill is back in the Hoops’ dugout, but that won’t change Celtic’s squad and Hearts have had the edge all season.

Brentford are pushing for a European place and Manchester City are the only side to have beaten the Bees at their west London hive this term. Nottingham Forest are set to be stung on their travels.

Aston Villa were poor when losing 1-0 to Everton in their most recent Premier League contest and Unai Emery’s men have more on their plate at Newcastle. The in-form Magpies have lost only one of their last seven games and they have the edge at St James’ Park.
