Bet of the Day
Canada to beat Morocco @ 4/1
Morocco have certainly impressed at the World Cup, with forward Ismael Saibari and 18-year-old midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi standout performers. However, the Atlas Lions now take on a history-making Canada in Houston and the Reds can’t be 4/1 shots in this spot.
Morocco got past the Netherlands on penalties to reach the last-16 and, while that was a solid victory over a good team, the Atlas Lions were inefficient in both boxes and that is a continued worry.
Mohamed Ouahbi’s men conceded twice in a 4-2 group-stage win over Haiti, they recorded an expected goals total of only 0.99 in their 1-0 success over Scotland and Canada look capable of troubling Morocco.
The Reds have scored nine goals in their four World Cup matches and Jesse Marsch’s forward-thinking side are a dangerous outfit when they click in attack.
Canada’s confidence is surging, after recording their first World Cup win, and reaching the knockout rounds for the first time.
There is no reason to think the progress of the hosts is about to end and certainly not with the Reds a whopping 4/1 to beat Morocco in Houston.
Special of the Day
France to win, over 2.5 goals & Kylian Mbappe to score at any time bet builder v Paraguay @ 59/50
France are clear favourites to win the World Cup and it’s easy to see why. If anything, a case could be made for Les Bleus to be even shorter.
Didier Deschamps’ men destroyed Sweden 3-0 at the last-32 stage of the World Cup and a last-16 tie with Paraguay doesn’t look any more difficult.
France hit 25 shots, nine corners and an expected goals tally of 3.24 and the 3-0 victory over Sweden could have easily been 4-0 or 5-0.
Kylian Mbappe once again inspired France to success with the Real Madrid man making it six World Cup goals. The 27-year-old has the pace to be a threat in behind, but Mbappe also has the skill to carry the ball and ability to strike from distance.
It’s hard to see how Paraguay can stop France and Mbappe. A victory for Les Bleus, over 2.5 goals and Mbappe to score pays a generous 59/50 when combined in a bet builder.
Longshot of the Day
France to beat Paraguay 5-0 @ 16/1
At 16/1, a chance can be taken on France beating Paraguay 5-0. Les Bleus have the firepower to create chances against an opponent and Didier Deschamps’ men have hit 45 shots in their last two World Cup matches.
It’s 13 strikes in four matches for France and it’s hard to think that Paraguay are much superior to Senegal, Norway and Sweden, who have all been hammered by Les Bleus.
A 5-0 France success pays a whopping 16/1 and that could give punters a good spin in Philadelphia.
